The features of the development of modal words and exclamations in the Azerbaijani language are based on concrete linguistic facts. Their morphological affiliation and syntactic functions in our language, and the grammatical nuances of their expression are explained by giving examples. It is also noted that modal words are one of the means of expression of modality, that is, although all modal words are intermediate words, not all intermediate words are modal words.
