On the basis of generalization of authors' research experience, features of problems of comparison of monolithic barriers with layered targets, and also layered barriers (SP) of various structures among themselves from the point of view of the best providing protection against high-speed impact are considered. The joint venture is understood as barriers with layers in contact, and with air gaps between them. Much attention is paid to the discussion of characteristic approaches to the problem. The main results of the research are summarized.
