The article discusses the monitoring of the formation of educational skills in younger schoolchildren in the process of project activities in the lessons of the surrounding world. The paper indicates that in the school education system, an important role is played by the project activity of younger schoolchildren, which is a special activity in the educational process that most effectively forms meta-subject results for students. The possibilities of applying project activities in the lessons of the surrounding world are due to the fact that as a result of project activities, younger schoolchildren apply their theoretical knowledge in practice, and this, in turn, allows them to investigate the effectiveness of such activities through monitoring. The paper emphasizes that monitoring the project activities of schoolchildren in the lessons of the surrounding world is designed to promote the realization of the potential of each participant in the project work and contributes to the most productive conduct of project research.
