Features of iron metabolism in the animal body and influence of a pharmacological composition on the basis of nanoiron

Iron in the animal body plays a crucial role in processes such as hemoglobin synthesis, oxygen transport and cellular respiration, iron is also a component of proteins and enzymes involved in DNA synthesis and cell division, collagen synthesis, nucleic acid replication and recovery, redox reactions, metabolic reactions and body defense. However, despite the vital need for iron, its excess is toxic and its content in the body must be tightly regulated. For the study, three groups of white rats and three groups of calves were formed, 6 animals in each group. The first group of animals served as a control, the second and third groups were subcutaneously injected with a pharmacological composition based on nanoiron at a dose of 50 mg/kg of body weight and 75 mg/kg, respectively. In the studied groups of animals, indicators such as serum iron, total iron-binding capacity and unsaturated iron-binding capacity of serum were evaluated. It has been established that the nanoiron-based compound has a stimulating effect on iron metabolism in animals. An increase in all studied indicators was established. The most optimal dose was 50 mg/kg body weight. A more pronounced stimulating effect was established on the 7th day after the administration of the pharmacological composition.
