Features of Teaching Singing at the Vocal Faculty of Changchun University of China

The article examines the distinctive features of teaching academic singing in the bel canto technique at the Vocal Department of Changchun University in Jilin Province, China. The core pedagogical principle emphasizes educating students based on their natural abilities and psychophysical characteristics. Therefore, the teaching methodology is individualized, a practice not universally adopted in Chinese higher education institutions. The Vocal Department’s concept, which considers the personal qualities of each student, integrates the psycho-emotional aspect as a crucial component of effective vocal preparation.
