Features of the translation of idiomatic expressions from Russian to Chinese (based on N.Ostrovsky's «How steel was tempered»)

The article examines the features of the translation of idioms from Russian into Chinese based on the novel «Как закалялась сталь» (eng. «How steel was tempered») by N. Ostrovsky. The object of the research is idioms and their translations into Chinese. A comparative analysis of idiomatic expressions of two versions of the Chinese translation and the original text is carried out. A number of examples used to set up the equivalency between the studied idiomatic expressions are analysed.
