The article deals with the techniques used in translating the names of Chinese dishes into Russian in bilingual restaurant menus. The results of the semantic-motivational analysis of Chinese menu gluttonyms are presented, and the recommendations for the translation of Chinese dish names depending on their semantic-motivational characteristics are given.
