The article deals with the analysis of the peculiarities of acquiring the education and the creative skills by the convicted. There is conducted the analysis of the normative legal base, regulating the organization of the professional education of the convicted. The author describes the issues that appear at this direction in the line of the penal system. There are formulated the suggestions of their solving. The author demonstrates the experience of the foreign countries, concerning the issue.
