Peculiar properties for water-coal slurry production by electric discharge methods

The purpose of the research is to elaborate coal-water slurry with minimum energy consumption, which meets the requirements. The characteristics of coal-water slurries prepared by plasma and electric discharge methods are given. Raw coal of rank D was used. The chemical composition of coal particles in the slurry and micrographs of the surface were obtained by scanning electron microscopy. The micrographs show that the samples processed by both methods have a pronounced fine structure compared to the original. Elemental analysis showed a significant reduction in the oxides of sulfur and nitrogen.
