The goal is to identify the features of representations about police among regional TV news viewers. Маterials and Methods. The following methods of data collection were employed: associative experiment and questionnaire; processing was carried out through content analysis. The study involved 61 people: 31 from a group of TV viewers, and 30 others receiving information from other sources. Results and Discussion. Analysis of associative orientation showed that group 1 (TV viewers) have mostly positive-neutral social visions about the police, while representatives of group 2 (receiving information from other sources) have more neutral perceptions. The content of the core is neutral in both groups, but TV viewers have more positive than negative associations. Conсlusions. The periphery of the representations has a more positive character in group 1, and neutral with a tendency to negative characteristics in group 2. The visions of TV viewers are currently positive-neutral, with a tendency to change in a positive direction, which corresponds to the image of the police presented in the news program.
