The article is devoted to the consideration of a specific phenomenon of modernity - clip thinking among the younger generation. The article reveals the factors influencing the development of clip thinking, the positive and negative sides of this phenomenon, analyzes the signs of clip thinking in students. Learning a foreign language is particularly difficult for students with a clip type of thinking, due to the fact that any language is a complex system that cannot be learned in fragments, it requires deep assimilation and understanding of linguistic phenomena in their entirety and interrelationship.
