Bleeding is a major complication during any surgical procedure. The level of postoperative hospital mortality correlates with the amount of blood loss. According to Carson data with colleagues, the mortality rate of 8%, which is characteristic for the blood loss of 500 ml, increasing to 42.9% with 2000 ml of blood loss level [13]. This relationship can also be expressed regression formula «Mortality (%) = 0.0002 * blood loss (ml) - 0.0363 «, which allows to predict the patient's risk for blood loss in a given range. To reduce the risk of death from complications associated with blood loss, modern surgery uses special materials topical hemostatic, can effectively stop bleeding when and where the use of electrosurgical coagulation systems or dangerous for the patient, or undesirable.
