The article deals with the necessity to develop new energy consuming equipment with mechanical and dynamic process, the classification of equipment to grind food raw material is given, the analysis of basic choppers is performed. On the basis of analysis of scientific research of efficient grinders for different food granular materials new functional scheme for rotor hammer grinder to chop plant raw material and obtain sustainable granular content of granular materials is given. The peculiar feature of this equipment is the use of two-stage configuration of operating units of chopping. Operational principle of the first stage is based on cutting and shearing method, the second one is connected with a free blow. It consists of the unit with horizontal grinding chamber, a rotor and a drive. The first stage of grinding is formed with concentric lower and upper collars with end-to-end radial channels. The rotor consists of a drive shaft with the lower disc with collar and starting blades. Starting blades have jointed hammers. Upper disc has peripheral outtake blades. Grinding chamber has peripheral screens and riffled deck plates which are made of dismountable components in the form of consequent alternate sections. Screens and deck plates form the ring of grinding chamber. Rotor can rotate to one or another side due to which there is regular wear of grind- ing components, removal of grinding material is performed through different branch pipes. The results of analysis of operation parameters which are determined experimentally are given. Technical and economic effect is reached by means of even textural content of the product at low energy consumption which is 3.8 … 4.0 KW per hour per 1 ton of the product which is less in energy consumption in comparison with hammer grinders.
