Currently, the role of the primordial leaves of soybean (Glycine) has not been studied sufficiently. The purpose of our research was to assess the growth dynamics of primordial soybean leaves and their role in plant development. A primordial leaf of the plant has provided a successful start for the further growth and development. Thus, in the phase of the first triple leaf, with a small proportion of its area in the total assimilation surface of the plant (6.2%), the share of dry matter of primordial leaf was 50.7% of the leaf part of plants and 28.1% of the total generative one; the share of total nitrogen was 50.0 and 35.3%, respectively; crude fat - 54.6 and 38.8%. In the budding phase, the proportion of studied parameters decreased with a slight increase in the primordial leaf (+ 1.8 sq. cm) and accumulation of crude fat (+1%). In the variability of the primordial leaf area, both the conditions of the year (42.1%) and the genotype of the variety (45.2%) made an equivalent contribution...
