The paper examines the features of the occupational morbidity of medical workers. The statistical analysis has revealed that in the Russian Federation during the COVID-19 pandemic the biological factor of the working environment had a decisive influence on the health of medical workers. At the regional level (on the example of the Republic of Bashkortostan), the largest number of cases of occupational diseases in 2020 accounted for the healthcare sector. The results of the sociological survey revealed that the labor process factors also had a negative impact on the health of medical workers in the republic. In order to level out both the social and medical consequences of occupational morbidity of health workers, it is proposed to change the methodology for conducting annual medical examinations, aiming it at early detection of signs of occupational diseases and rehabilitation, as well as to create a unified informational and analytical system for monitoring the health of medical professionals working in harmful conditions.
