Features of the CAF placement in the subjects of the North Caucasian Federal District

Accommodation of tourists, being an important part of the tourist product along with the services for transportation of travelers, plays a huge role in attracting tourists to the region. Without underestimating the importance of certain tourist resources in the issue of the size of the tourist flow, we note that without collective accommodation facilities (CAF), their optimal distribution across the region, it is impossible to increase the number of tourist arrivals. The article examines the issues of development and distribution of CAF in the subjects of the North Caucasian Federal District (NCFD). The dynamics and trends of CAF development over a ten-year period from 2014 to 2023 are considered both for the federal district as a whole and for its constituent entities, factors influencing the features of their development and placement are identified, and the obtained indicators are compared between the subjects of the NCFD. As a result, based on the use of various research methods, the features of the development and territorial placement of CAF are determined for a number of indicators. The need to study collective accommodation facilities in the North Caucasian Federal District is caused not only by the ever-increasing flow of tourists to this region, but also by the uneven development and placement of tourist accommodation facilities across the district. The object of the study is collective accommodation facilities, and the subject is their development and placement in the North Caucasian Federal District. The purpose of the article is to consider the territorial features of the development and location of collective accommodation facilities in the North Caucasus Federal District.
