Specific features of development of linguistic and cultural competence based on the Chinese idioms Chengyu at the initial stage of learning the Chinese language

The article deals with mastering the lexical side of the Chinese language by the means of the idioms сhengyu. Phraseology plays an important role in the Chinese language, but its development can be problematic, especially at the initial stage of learning. The article offers two modes of operation for familiarization and activation of idioms: based on text and illustrative material and the creation of mind maps. The advantages and disadvantages of the two modes, that should be taken into account while organizing the educational process, are analyzed.
