Features of syntax of "The collection of children's stories" by A.S. Shishkov and N.I. Novikov's magazine "Children's reading for heart and mind"

The article considers the syntax of literature for children of the late 18th - early 19th centuries. The author compares specific features of sentence structure and word order in A.S. Shishkov’s texts for children and N.I. Novikov’s «Children’s Reading for Heart and Mind». On the basis of the comparison the author traces some features of archaic syntax and elements of the «new style».
