The article discusses specific aspects of the static and dynamic portrait of Alexei who is one of the main characters of the novel by F.M. Dostoevsky «The Karamazov Brothers». The study reveals strong influence of the Gospel ideas about an ideal person. Thus, the Christianideal «to be like children» is implemented in the Alyosha Karamazov’s description. Moreover, Dostoevsky openly uses the traditions of depicting saints in the portrait of his hero. Alyosha is laconic, which also corresponds to the Christian ideal of silence as a means to achieve humility. Also, the hero of the novel is a committed Christian, he knows how to forgive, and is the very soul of love for his neighbors. The sincerity of the younger of the Karamazov brothers is represented by the intensification of his gestures. Firstly, it is a female or tear gesture, which by weeping and sobbing conveys despair and grief and is accompanied by a typical shame gesture to cover one’s face with hands. Other mimic gestures include turning red and pale that accompany strong emotions. Thirdly, it is the intonation polarity of Alyosha Karamazov’s voice. In addition to the intensification of the gesture, another distinctive feature of «the man of God» gesture portrait is the smile, as well as verbal characteristics of individual external changes using the semantics of light. Thus, in order to create a portrait of a committed Christian who has chosen the right way despite temptations, Dostoevsky uses a complex portrait, which is indicated by the use of tears and passion gestures that are unacceptable at first sight in the framework of the realistic method
