The article discusses the light-music phenomenon in the music of Russian composer of the XIX - XX centuries A. N. Scryabin. Special attention is paid to the phenomenon of composer’s “color hearing” and its role in the light-music ideas. The light-music phenomenon is considered as the synthesis of music, light and color. In this regard, the author cites the etymology of the concept of “colored hearing” and defines characteristic features of this phenomenon. Discusses A. N. Scryabin’s view on the light-music phenomenon through the prism of the philosophical concepts of the composer. In an example, a light symphony “Prometheus” for orchestra, voice and party light “Luce”, was a piece of musical ideas of A. N. Scryabin. Considered his musical vision based on the sound-color table of correspondences given by Leonid Sabaneev - the composer’s biographer. In the conclusion the author comes to the conclusion that a prerequisite for the evolution of the musical ideas of A. N. Scryabin was created a unique theory of universal vision light-music. In turn, its basis was the system of “colour hearing”, the base of which was a philosophical concept of A. N. Scryabin.
