The article deals with the topical issue related to the peculiarities of extinguishing fires at thermal power enterprises. The authors highlight the main causes of explosions (fires) at hazardous facilities and their consequences. The article also gives a number of advantages and effectiveness of the use of compression foam by the example of the developed tactical scheme of extinguishing the heat power plant (CHP) "RUSAL - ACHINSK". The authors conclude that the introduction of fire-fighting vehicles with NATISK installation will reduce the material damage and emission of harmful substances into the atmosphere during fire suppression, as well as reduce the extinguishing time and the number of personnel involved.
