Selected aspects of mental preparation of police personnel before entering the service: in the context of foreign experience

The article presents an analysis of some aspects of the individual's mentality in two of its guises: firstly, mentality as a way of thinking about the established reality of the individual's existence and his abilities; secondly, mentality as a way of thinking about the importance of constant growth of personal parameters. Revealing the content of the noted dichotomy, the author appeals to some recommendations of foreign police science, which are also acceptable for the personality of a Russian policeman. According to the author, the recommendations he identified may be of practical importance in the system of professional training of police officers in Russia.
