Father Pavel Florensky - Christian thinker of the era of the great crisis

The proposed text examines the question of the nature of Fr. Pavel Florensky’s religiosity and draws attention to some of the initial (partly pre-theological) premises of his theology. The heightened ontologism of the religious and philosophical consciousness of the Russian Christian thinker is largely due to the deep crisis of pan- European religiosity and can be, among other things, motivated by an apologetic task - the desire to establish itself in the truth, radically preceding human rationality and disproportionate to it.
