Open economics competition of the ISEDT RAS research-educational centre: issues and prospects

The paper reviews theoretical bases of the competition movement, as well as experience in organizing and conducting the Open Economics Competition of the ISEDT RAS Research-Educational Centre (in Vologda). Modern education is aimed at developing students’ intellectual and creative abilities. In this regard, there is an acute issue of organizing and conducting events for their timely identification. Such events include academic competitions in school subjects. They are the most important factor in searching for talented young people and forming the intellectual potential of the future country’s elite. Academic competitions do not only check students’ academic achievements; it is also an intellectual, heuristic, intelligent search competition in creative application of knowledge, skills, abilities and competences for solving non-standard and complex tasks.
