The ongoing changes in the socio-political, economic, and cultural life of modern society enhance the importance of linguistic culture in various spheres of human activity. Mass media have a profound influence on the development of language as they largely determine the norms of language and communication, which must correspond to the norms of culture. Consequently, the level of linguistic culture among media professionals becomes a reflection of their literacy and professional culture, and in-fluences the educational level of the entire population. The research aims to identify the distinctive features and the role of linguistic culture in the process of its cultivation among future journalists. The author analyzed the concepts of “culture” and “linguistic culture,” identified and described the components of linguistic culture, and defined its distinctive features, which form the basis for developing a model for the cultivation of linguistic culture of future journalists. The research novelty lies in the literature driven description of the distinctive features of the linguistic culture of future journalists based on the analysis of its components in theory, as well as in a number of features identified as a result of practical research.The obtained results can serve as the basis for the development and implementation of a model aimed at improving the level of linguistic culture in the training process of future journalists.
