Attitude towards lonely living of mentally ill elderly patients and factors that cause the given family states

235 lonely living patients at the age of 60 and over followed-up at psychoneurological dispensary were examined with clinical and socio-psychological methods. The majority of patients considered lonely living to be negative (56,2 %), rarer - positive (26,8 %), and indifferent (17,0 %). According to their attitude towards lonely living they were divided into 3 groups that were compared on the ground of the moments forming the given family status. The factors facilitating the definite attitude towards lonely living of patients were identified.
