Introduction. A person’s attitude toward the experience of traumatization is a unique marker of their attitude toward themselves, their life, and their activities, as well as those with whom they interact in resolving this issue. The system of relationships developed over a lifetime toward oneself, others, and the world as a whole is clearly projected onto the attitudes of others toward the problem under discussion. This system can serve as the basis for communication and interaction, but it can also be a serious obstacle to the recognition, acceptance, and resolution of traumatization as a serious health problem for the victim. Attitudes toward the experience of traumatization in cultures of utility and dignity are analyzed. The culture of utility is based on survival, accompanied by indifference to traumatization on the part of the person and their environment. Human resourcefulness is viewed from the perspective of benefit to the social system, with concern for the individual minimalized or absent. In a culture of dignity, the experience of traumatization brings inclusion, renewal, and refinement of the quality of experiences, thoughts, relationships, rhythms, resources, motives, and aspirations, thereby gradually improving the quality of life. New personal qualities are developed: resilience, multi-motivation, tolerance of uncertainty, risk-taking, openness to oneself and others, patience, caring, and responsibility. Crisis events lead to pre-adaptation, which becomes a serious test of the human spirit. Dignity becomes a leading personal resource and a point of support in an era of evolutionary, revolutionary, and crisis-driven change, allowing one to maintain humanity during cultural, historical, social, and economic cataclysms and not be internally destroyed, even when the meaning of life undergoes a profound transformation. Materials and Methods. The following methods were used in this study: theoretical, analytical, and phenomenological. Results. Survival is characterized by confusion, disorganization, and risky social behavior. People lose awareness of their physicality. Internal states are not perceived as problematic or requiring attention or discussion. Basic needs are frustrated. The human psyche is fragmented, and a culture of health-care becomes a secondary reflection of the individual’s mental reality. Regulatory processes of the physical body are often unmonitored, pain is suppressed, illnesses are ignored, treatment is neglected, and preventive checkups are superficial. In a culture of dignity, individuals are focused on maintaining health in all its manifestations – physiological, psychological, mental, emotional, social, spiritual, existential, and other levels. They show concern and genuine interest in their bodies, themselves, and others, and engage in specific actions such as self-help, assistance, and rescue. Discussion and Conclusion. The proposed provisions and conclusions create the preconditions for further study and understanding of the phenomenon of attitudes toward the experience of traumatization in its methodological, substantive, procedural, and organizational aspects.
