Attitude to inclusive education among children in general education schools in the Republic of Buryatia

The article is devoted to studying the process of introducing inclusive education in general education schools in the Republic of Buryatia. The results of sociological research (2014-2015, 2018-2022) are presented. The authors analyze the main factors that have a significant impact on the degree of success in introducing inclusive practices in the school community: age of the respondents, gender, family composition and awareness of adolescents about their attitude to people with disabilities and inclusive education. A direct correlation is revealed between the level of students' awareness and the vector of their attitude towards the analyzed aspects of inclusive education (the higher it is, the more positive the attitude, and vice versa); the consequences of low awareness of students regarding the development of the inclusion system in general education schools are described. The study identifies obvious and hidden problems that hinder the active implementation of inclusive education in educational institutions.
