National identity reflection in the contemporary poetry of the Buryats

The modern poets of Russia, Mongolia and China, who write in the Buryat language, reconstruct the history of their peoples in a poetic form revealing its most significant plots and most outstanding characters. The appeal to antiquity, portraying in a wide historical background, search of values in the oriental civilization represent the search of their own original way in the Buryat poetry. The artistic images used by the poets are aimed to awaken the sense of ethnic identity of the contemporaries.
