The reflection of student's identity in social network media

Nowadays social networks are a driver of social development. The author considers social networks as social media. Social networks became part of daily routine for every young person. They also became agent of forming the solidarity groups. The paper shows that in a context of social instability users try to form a new reference surrounding that can help them to feel more social protected. This surrounding is extremely important for every user. That is why students try to represent themselves on the internet as good as they can be to find more “friends”. The paper applies to the original content analysis research of users’ profiles on the social network “Vkontakte”, studies the features of student`s identity representation in a social networks. Finally, the study concludes that members of communities have formed some rules of behaving and information presentation in social networks based on principles of “reasonable reliance”.
