Negative consequences of mass tourism for host territories

The article is devoted to the analysis and assessment of the effects arising from the development of tourism, since this service sector has a significant impact on the environmental environment and socio-economic development of the host territories. The main negative consequences of the development of various types of nature-oriented tourism, both on the environment and on the socio-economic indicators of the regions, are analyzed. The article considers the impact of tourism on the environment, provides a specific list of impacts on soil, water, wildlife, plants and changes in landscape, aesthetic and sanitary conditions. Trism as a type of anthropogenic influence can have a significant negative impact not only on the environment, leading to changes in geological formations, soil composition and plant growth in the affected areas, causing a decrease in the population of animals and insects, but also adversely affect the socio-economic condition of territories. Based on the conducted research, specific recommendations are proposed as a conclusion, the implementation of which will help to reduce the negative consequences of tourist and recreational activities. The main content of these recommendations is effective management of resort and recreational territories, regulation of tourist behavior, compliance with sanitary norms and rules by participants in the market of tourist and recreational services.
