Familiarization with the decision on the appointment of a forensic examination of the accused

The author considers the issues that arise when familiarizing with the decision onthe appointment of a forensic examination of the accused. The controversial formulations of theCriminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation requiring revision in order to protect therights of the accused are investigated. The judicial practice of higher courts and draft lawsregulating this institution of criminal procedure are given. The proposals on additions to the Codeof Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation, which can eliminate the problems that arisewhen familiarizing with the forensic examination of the accused are formulated.
