The myth about the domination of monarch preferences in Russian mentality is extremely convenient for explanation of failures in the course of formation of a democratic society. In this connection domestic history is constantly referred to though it is not justified/ at al. It is obvious, that in mass consciousness rationalistic representations about mission of the state leader have merged together with both religious-mystic, and rational attitudes to the state leader's role and the latter greatly defined mass behaviour.
