Paraenesis in the epistles of saint Paul

The purposes of this article are: 1). description of the paraenesis, its definition, features and forms; 2). the description of the paraenesis and its functions in the epistles of Saint Paul. This article examines the demand of the paraenesis since antiquity to the 1st century, using the example of Greek-Roman writers and their essays. A particular fragment of the article is devoted to the proof of the Greco-Roman influence on Saint Paul. This has affected the paraenesis in the rhetorical structure of his epistles. There are many examples for illustration of the parenetic material of Saint Paul. 1 Thess can be considered as one of the oldest samples of the early Christian parenesis. Bright features of the paraenesis are highlighted in the epistles, distinguishing it against the background of other parenetic material.
