The Paris agreement as a mechanism for reducing emissions at the international level

Бесплатный доступ

The article analyzes the Paris Agreement on Climate (known by the international abbreviation COP21), the most important global environmental legal document. The author notes that the COP21 conference took place in 2015, which, under the chairmanship of France, led to a universal and ambitious agreement that laid the foundations for a new climate regime, the goal of which is to contain the temperature rise below 2 ° C and strive to limit it to 1.5 ° C. An international agreement must primarily address mitigation - that is, efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions - and public adaptation to pre-existing climate change in a balanced way.
