Patent extortionists. How to protect against patent attack

Patent raiding aimed at forcing enterprises, companies or individuals to pay compensations or to purchase patents or licenses slows scientific and technological progress and limits innovative development. The low level of copyright protection in Russia and increase in the number of precedents of patent attacks contribute to the necessity of changes in existing legislation. This article suggests the options for improving legal mechanisms and developing new means to combat patent extortionists. As a result of making the proposed changes, the number of intelligent attacks are expected to decrease as well as to improve the efficiency of copyright protection.
