The urgency of the problem of cerebral vascular diseases necessitates further study of their pathogenetic bases and the development of new methods for adequate therapy. Modern neurology includes intracellular excitotoxicity, oxidative stress, apoptosis and inflammation to the main pathogenetic mechanisms of cerebrovascular diseases. In the past decade, the role of neurotrophic factors in the pathogenesis of cerebral ischemia has been actively studied. The study of the processes of neurogenesis and neuroplasticity creates prerequisites for the development of new approaches to treatment and rehabilitation in vascular pathology.
