Pathogenetic basis of remyelination in multiple sclerosis

The article gives a brief overview of several theories explaining the logic of the pathological process in multiple sclerosis - autoimmune, the theory of membrane-pathological changes and modern ideas about neuroplasticity. The authors make a special emphasis on a series of their own studies devoted to the study of membrane-destabilizing processes in the pathogenesis of multiple sclerosis and the role of oxidative stress. Further research should combine known data and a new direction in the study of diseases of the nervous system - the study of neurotrophic factors.
