The pedagogical situation of “teaching and learning” as the basis for the competition of pedagogical skills of young teachers at the Ural state university of architecture and art

Young teachers of an architectural and art university, as a rule, experience diffi culties at the beginning of their professional activities, because they are faced with “incomplete” knowledge acquired in the course of their own studies, professional skills that turn out to be fragmented for implementation in an educational situation, and with insuffi cient support from experienced teachers. The profession of a teacher of creative disciplines is distinguished not only by the acquisition of scientifi c and general cultural knowledge, but also by the realization of professional practical teaching skills. The competition of pedagogical skills can be considered as one of the tools for the professional development of a young teacher, which makes it possible to improve the level of pedagogical knowledge, get psychological and pedagogical skills, and integrate methods of cooperation directly into educational situations. In the conditions of competition, the teacher is perceived as a reflective practitioner who is able to critically analyze his/her work and change it: his/her roles, actions, situations, and att itudes. The situation of “teaching and learning” contributes to professional socialization, raising the professional social status of the young teacher, establishing contacts at the professional level, entering the like-minded community.
