The formation of ideological conviction among servicemen is a psychological and pedagogical process aimed at developing the individual psychological qualities of a serviceman and the socio-psychological characteristics of a military team, carried out through the formation of pedagogical competencies among officers in higher military educational organizations. One of the tasks of such formation is the achievement of military professional competencies and personal qualities set by state standards, capable of adequately acting in various situations of military professional activity. The officer, in turn, must carry out a number of pedagogical functions, including educating, shaping, and maintaining in subordinate military personnel the ideological conviction necessary for the performance of military duty. The pedagogical competence of an officer allows them to organize the service and combat activities of subordinates, direct combat training, conduct military-political work, maintain military discipline, ensure compliance with internal orders, build work with subordinate personnel, and improve their personal professional training. The pedagogical competence of an officer includes theoretical, organizational-methodical, and practical preparedness.
