The article reveals the need to control the activities of students in teaching foreign languages. The main attention is paid to the disclosure of the concept of control, its types, forms, functions. The problems, advantages and methods of work in the classroom of a foreign language are described using the most effective methods of control. The theoretical significance of the work was the analysis of domestic and foreign literature on the problem. The practical significance of the article lies in the proposed list of the most effective ways of control in the classroom of a foreign language.
