This аrticle, the 1st one in the set dedicated to teacher - student interaction in language activies, describes one of the possible strategies for working at translation skills in non-linguistic universities. It reveals the connection between that strategy and different educational approaches in the conditions of resolving certain pedagogical contradictions. It suggests a way of incorporation the ethnolinguistic part of sociocultural experience into practicing translation skills in non-linguistic universities.
