"... Re-design the human race!": the project of educating the "new man" in the context of the Russian modernization in 1920-1930s

The article is focused on the project of educating the "new man". The author claims that, besides having doctrinal roots, the project under study resulted from the needs of the forced modernization of Russia. The goal of the project defined as “a person capable and ready to self-sacrifice for the sake of their supra-personal interests”, the value system and the ideal of upbringing of the “new man” were realized through the synthesis of socio-and anthropocentric worldview.
