Translation of stylistic devices in the novel "Anna Karenina" by Leo Tolstoy

A feature of literary works is figurative and emotional impact on the reader which is achieved through various stylistic devices. The translation of stylistically colored vocabulary units often causes difficulties for translators. In this article, we analyze the stylistic devices in Leo Tolstoy's novel "Anna Karenina" and their translations into German by R. Lowenfeld and R. Titze. The research has shown that both translators tried to preserve the stylistic devices, but sometimes they had to neutralize or use another stylistic device.
