The article discusses and analyzes translation strategies used in the reverberation of lexical means reflecting American cultural realities in the process of English to Chinese translation, using Jack Kerouac’s novel “On the Road” as an example. The study addresses the concerns about the identification and preservation of the US cultural code in the Chinese linguistic context.
