Peroxide oxidation of trimethylantimony in the presence of propenoic and 2-methylpropenoic acids

Trimethylantimony bis(2-methylpropenoate) Me3Sb(O2CCМе=CH2)2 was obtained as a result of the reaction of trimethylantimony and 2-methylpropenoic acid in the presence of tertiary butyl hydroperoxide, which was confirmed by data of elemental analysis, as well as IR, 1H and 13C-NMR spectroscopy and chromatography-mass spectrometry. The yield of the product was 50%, in addition, the compound polymer was obtained. In the case of replacing 2-methylpropenoic acid with propenoic acid, only polymeric trimethylantimony propenoate was formed.
