Heroes of lower mythology in Mongolian languages

The article reviews inner form of such words of Mongolian languages, as albin ‘demon, devil, sprite’, cidkur ‘demon, ghost’, booquldui ‘ghost’. It also reviews the semantics of Buryat phrase xojor xultei xoibonton, which, according to legend, indicates ghosts and their specific gait. It is revealed that nomination is based on the visual representation of objects. So, the lexeme albin appeared due to visual perception of the wandering sparks. Such physical parameters of characters of lower mythology as leanness and stoop are revealed. Studying of motives of the nomination of spiritual lexicon of the Mongolian languages allows to receive further valuable data on specifics of people’s spiritual culture and mentality.
