Prospects and problems of using coal gasifiers for thermal energy generation

The paper presents the ways for boiler plants upgrading to improve their efficiency and environmental performance. The main shortcomings of layer gasifiers are analyzed and the method to reduce harmful inclusions of the coal-derived gas are offered. The cleaning method is based on the energy of electric plasma torches. The purified gas can be used to produce heat. Modernization of boilers can be made by combustion of gas generated from coal.
