The article presents the results of a sociological study on the perception by the population of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) of the problems associated with climate change and the degree of readiness of residents to move to more favorable regions for life. The survey showed the relevance for citizens of the issues caused by warming in the region: the increased frequency of forest fires, the dangers of thawing permafrost and the associated changes in habitual patterns of life, the emergence of temperature extremes that affect the daily lives of the population. Verbal readiness to change the place of permanent residence was expressed by 37.6 % of respondents, and 49.3 % of residents did not note the desire to leave for another region of Russia. Interestingly, the found motives of respondents wishing to leave Yakutia are almost unrelated to climate change in the region, since its indicators have not yet reached a critical level that can provoke mass migration.
