Prospects for the development of the Makhachkala commercial sea port in the context of ensuring national security of the Russian Federation

This article examines the development trends of the Caspian Basin regions, including key Russian players in this direction there are seaports of the Astrakhan region and the Republic of Dagestan. For a more in-depth analysis, the Makhachkala Commercial sea port was selected. Its current activities, economic indicators, promising areas of development and factors preventing this are being studied. Special attention is paid to the issues of ensuring national security of an object strategically important for the country. Threats to the security of the seaport are identified and a set of measures to neutralize them is proposed.
